We collect as little as we can, use it only to run the magazine, and never sell it.

1. Who we are

IQGov is an independent magazine about digital government, published at iqgov.news. For anything in this notice, write to newsroom@iqgov.news or use the contact form.

2. What we collect

  • Newsletter sign-ups: your email address and the page you signed up from, so we can send the Monday Briefing.
  • Messages to the newsroom: your name, email, topic and message, so we can reply and act on tips and corrections.
  • Accounts and subscriptions, when they are open: your email address, the name you give, your plan and your IQ Loop progress. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
  • Server logs kept by our host for a short time for security and reliability, such as IP address and pages requested.

3. What stays on your device

Your theme, text size, saved stories, followed topics and IQ Loop answers are kept in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us unless you sign in and choose to sync your Loop.

If you sign in, we set one cookie, iqgov_session, which keeps you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.

4. Where it is kept

The site, its forms and account data are hosted by Netlify. Payments are processed by Stripe. Both act on our behalf under their own data-protection terms and may process data outside your country.

5. How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. Newsroom messages for up to two years, or longer if they become part of a published correction. Account data while your account is open and for up to 30 days after you close it, except billing records that the law requires us to keep.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to us and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data-protection authority.

7. Changes

If this notice changes, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell subscribers by email.
