Corrections
1. Our approach
We correct errors of fact openly. A correction is added to the foot of the story or news brief, under the heading Correction, with the date it was made and a plain statement of what was wrong. We do not quietly rewrite a published claim.
2. What counts as a correction
- A wrong fact: a name, number, date, title, place or quote.
- A claim the linked source does not support.
- A link that points to the wrong page.
3. What does not
Spelling, grammar and layout fixes that do not change the meaning are made without a note. Updates with new information are marked as updates in the text, not as corrections.
4. How to report an error
Use the contact form and choose Correction, or write to newsroom@iqgov.news. Tell us the page, the sentence and, if you can, a source. We reply within two working days.
5. How we check
Every factual sentence on IQGov links to its source. When an error is reported, we open that source again and any source you send, and correct the piece if the claim is not supported. Our wider rules are in our ethics and standards.
